We are celebrating our first year anniversary at our store in Fort Walton Beach Florida. This store is located at 652 N Beal Pkwy in the Gap Creek Center across from White Sands Bowling Alley. The store carries a full range of our Groceries and Gifts but there is no Tea Room at present.
The opening hours for the Fort Walton Beach store are 10a.m - 6p.m Monday to Friday and 10am-5pm on Saturday. Please come by and help make our new location a success. We are still trying to find a suitable location in the Navarre area and promise to be open some time next year. Until then please continue to support us in Fort Walton Beach to enable us to pursue our new project.

BP NewsCLOSING OUR STORE IN
MARY ESTHER
Unfortunately our lease runs out at the end of this month at our location in Mary Esther and we are trying to find a new location in Navarre but after the hurricane we have few options. We will keep you informed.
We will transfer all our stock to our store in Fort Walton Beach which will be operating as a retail shop only. This store is located at 652 N Beal Pkwy in the Gap Creek Center across from White Sands Bowling Alley. We hope to continue our Tea Room service at a later date so please support our store in Fort Walton Beach. Anyone having problems getting to this location can order by phone and we will o0ffer a delivery service once a week to Navarre/Gulf Breeze residents.

On a sad note, Alison will be leaving us next week for a new job in Destin and we wish her every success and if you would like to come by and say goodbye her last day will be Saturday 19th March. We will miss her.

Recipe
Brandy Butter
3 oz Unsalted Butter
3 oz Caster Sugar
|
Grated Rind of Half an Orange
2-3 tbsp of Brandy
Cream the butter until soft and pale in colour. Beat in the Sugar and Orange Rind. Gradually beat in the Brandy until the mixture is frothy. Chill in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours or until solid.

Recipe
Kedgeree
8 oz Haddock**
|
1 oz margarine
|
3 oz long grain rice
|
1 oz plain flour
|
½ pint milk
|
2 hard boiled eggs
|
Pinch salt & pepper
|
1 tbsp chopped parsley
|
Serves 4
Cook rice in boiling water salted water for about 12 mins, strain and rinse. Melt the margarine, add flour and gradually stir in the milk until sauce thickens and boils. Flake haddock, stir into sauce with salt and pepper. Stir in the rice, chopped eggs and parsley. Reheat over gentle heat until well mixed and hot. Serve with crispy bread and butter.

We have a wide selection of frozen foods including kippers, haddock, fish fingers, sausages and bacon along with our regular sausage rolls and meat pies. We also have a new tea called “Tickety Boo” which is known as the “Charitea” with a smile. It has been created by British comedian, Billy Connelly and all profits are donated to charities which fund a “Tickety Boo House” in India which provides a permanent house for about fifty children -aged from 3 to 15 years old all of whom have been rescued from the sex business. They are also looking to provide a mobile clinic for children in Romania.

COQ AU VIN
1 Sachet Colmans COQ AU VIN mix**

4oz/100g Button Mushrooms
|
1lb Chicken Breast/Thighs
|
425ml / ¾ pint water
|
2 Medium Onions Sliced
|
Serves 4 - 6
|
Heat oven to 180C/ 350F. Place the chicken, onions and mushrooms in an ovenproof casserole dish. Mix the contents of the sachet with the water and add to the casserole . Cover and cook in the oven for one and a half hours or until the chicken is tender. Ensure piping hot and serve immediately with your favourite vegetables and potatoes. For pudding serve treacle sponge and custard available at the British Pedlar.

Recipe
BACON AND EGG FLAN
8oz/225g Bacon Rashers
|
3 Eggs
|
8fl oz/250ml Milk
|
Salt and Pepper to Taste
|
Shortcrust Pastry
|
Serves 4 - 6
|
Roll out and line a 8inch/20cm flan tin or dish with the shortcrust pastry. Preheat the oven 375F/190C and bake the flan blind for just 15 minutes or until firm but still pale in colour. Reduce oven setting 325F/160C.
Meanwhile grill or fry the bacon until just crisp. Cut into small pieces and put into the pasty case. Beat the eggs, add the milk and a little seasoning. Strain over the bacon and cook for 25 minutes or until just firm. Serve hot or cold.

Recipe
CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA
Serves 4
5 Tbsp Pataks Tikka Curry Paste (available from the BP)
450g Chicken Thighs or Breast cut into 1/2″ cubes
1 Medium Onion Chopped
3 Tbsp Plain Yogurt
1 Small Can Chopped Tomatoes
1 Tbsp Oil
Marinate the chicken pieces in a mixture of the Patak’s Tikka Paste and yogurt. Keep aside for 1 hour. Lift out each individual piece from the marinade and arrange on a baking tray. Cook in a pre-heated oven 200 degrees C for 15 - 20 minutes turning once during the cooking process. Brown off under the grill for 2 minutes. Do not discard the marinade since this is the base for your sauce.
Heat the oil and fry the onion until translucent, add the tomatoes and Patak’s Tikka Paste marinade and cook for a few minutes. Add the cooked chicken and simmer uncovered allowing the chicken to absorb some of the sauce. If the sauce is too runny boil off some of the liquid. Serve hot with Patak’s Rice and Naan Breads or Popadoms (available at the BP).

Recipe
YORKSHIRE TEACAKES (for Ann B)

½ oz fresh yeast
|
2 oz butter
|
Blend the yeast with a little milk to form a creamy liquid. Place the flour and salt into a large bowl and rub in the butter. Stir in the sugar, currants & mixed peel. Make a well in the center and add the yeast cream and then sufficient milk to make a soft but not sticky dough. Turn onto a floured surface and knead until the dough is elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and leave to rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk. Divide into 8 equal pieces and knead lightly into rounds 6” in diameter. Place on two greased baking trays and brush with milk. Cover with a cloth & prove in a warm place until doubled in bulk. Preheat oven to 400°F. Bake for 20 mins until pale golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Serve split and toasted with plenty of butter.
